Storming into the EDM scene as the emperors of the dubstep movement is the powerful pair, Nero. Hailing from London town the two men behind the tables, Dan Stephens and Joe Ray, grew up as childhood friends who would feed off of their parent's musical tastes. Contrary to their aggressive and mighty sounds, the two grew up listening to classical and jazz. Both are very talented musicians; Dan plays the cello and Joe plays the guitar. The duo started their musical profession joining DJ SS's Formation Records in 2004. Their drum and bass tracks were the talk of the underground scene as they gained huge support from DJs like Andy C, Grooverider, and Friction. They also had tremendous airplay from renowned radio hosts like Zane Lowe, Jo Whiley, Pete Tong, Annie Mac, and Rob Da Bank. In 2008, Nero's debut dustup release, "This Way," became one of the biggest dubstep tunes of that year. Shortly after, they came out with "Promises," a certified gold-record in the U.S. and also featured on an HP computer commercial. Other tracks such as "Me & You," "Innocence," and "Guilt" have also scaled the charts and received highly acclaimed reviews internationally. Their energetic beats and engaging vocals has highlighted the artistry of their technical skill in studio. It must be why in 2012, Nero was asked to tour with Madonna as her official opening DJ act. Although they respectively declined the offer, they still remains one of the most sough after DJ duo in the business. Chart-topping hit after hit, Nero has continued to push the bar and boundaries of the dubstep domain.
