Eric Prydz is a Swedish DJ and producer known for his dark and dotted progressive-house gems. Just like his music, he has a one-of-a-kind persona, as he stands alone in his ability to mix commercial success with underground fame. Prydz is best known for his 2004 hit single, "Call On Me," which stayed five consecutive weeks at number one on the German Top 100 and selling 2.5 million copies worldwide. Prydz is notorious for falling off the grid and away from the public eye, especially to perfect his tracks. Since 2005, he has been working on an artist album that was originally planned for release in 2007. After canceling the original release date, it wasn't until 2009 when Prydz announced that the album had been completed. Finally, in early, 2012 his long-awaited 3- disc album came out with positively acclaimed hits. Being one of the most disciplined producers in the industry, Prydz is extremely careful about releasing certain tracks under different pseudonyms. He runs two record labels and strategically chooses which tracks to release through which brand, either with Pryda under his real name or with Mouseville under the alias, Cirez D. Both labels are held in the highest regard and, because of his cult-like following, his tracks are made available with scarcely any promotion. Prydz may be known amongst his fans as the “king of dance music” but many also consider him to be Sweden's most timid club-music advocate. It wasn't until 2012 that the softly-spoken Swede started giving interviews and overcame his fear of flying in order to tour. The past year has been a great success for Eric Prydz and this production powerhouse continues to reign at the top of the game.
