German progressive house producer, Deniz Koyu, wasn’t even interested in electronic music until his late teens. Over the past few years, he has been influenced by Daft Punk and the disco house movement as well as electro and progressive house—which he has successfully mastered at this point in his career. His breakout hit, “Tung!” was widely accepted and praised by fellow producers such as Fedde Le Grand, who Koyu has since toured with. The release of “Tung!” was a quick process, Koyu admits that the track didn’t take very long to create and then didn’t take very long to catch on. It is now a club staple, played by top DJs around the world; some of the most notable being Swedish House Mafia, who played multiple Koyu signature tracks at their massive Madison Square Garden show. Koyu has played festivals and top-rated nightclubs internationally including Ultra Festival and Liv in Miami as well as clubs in New York, LA, and Ibiza. He has recently re-signed for his residency with the Wynn hotel nightclubs in Las Vegas and is slated to headline XS and Surrender nightclubs regularly throughout 2013.
